Our services begin with an assessment by APSO Clinical Coordinator, and co-founder, Barbara Graff, MEd, BSN, RN, to determine the variety of needs of the patients and families. Education about disease progression and associated needs is provided. If desired, APSO will then assist in setting up a volunteer Caregiving Network, often through the patient’s family and friends, church, or coworkers, to coordinate major and minor responses to the patient’s particular challenges. APSO can also help arrange for anything from minor home repairs to major modifications for handicap accessibility.
As the disease progresses APSO is always available to answer questions, offer advice, or assist with coordinating additional services that may be needed.
